Meet the E-Board: President

Hello, I am Christopher, but I go by Chris. I am a sophomore majoring in Computer Engineering, and this is my E-Board Q&A Introduction!

-What made you pursue this position?

I decided to run for president of the UB Rowing Club because of my passion for the sport of rowing, as well as my desire to make the club here at UB an even more exciting and competitive team!

-When did you start rowing? What was the reason?

I started rowing in 2019 with my high school's novice team. I always loved being outside and especially on the water, so when I heard that my school had a rowing team, I just had to see what it was all about!

-What is your fondest rowing memory?

My favorite memory of rowing was my 2023 spring season, where my boat and I won gold the men's U19 4+ at the New York State Championship Regatta securing a spot at both SRAA and US Rowing Youth Nationals; the first time this had been accomplished in my school's history.

-Finally, what is your plan to improve the club?

I intend to bolster club events and outreach in hopes to share my enjoyment of this amazing sport with as many people as possible.

I am so excited for the competitive year to come! The dedication and camaraderie I have seen here at UB is like nothing I have ever seen before. I know that with our tight-knit community and amazing coaching staff, we are due for another great year of racing and cruising down the Tonowanda!
