Hello, I am William, but I go by Will. I am a Junior majoring in History, and this is my E-Board Q&A Introduction!

-What made you pursue this position?

I wanted to fill the position of recruiter because drawing in a good pool of athletes is essential for turning this club into what it should be. I also like talking to people about rowing!

-When did you start rowing? What was the reason?

I started rowing as a high school freshman, so I have over half a decade of rowing experience. However, people can and do get into this sport at an entry level really at any age and the community is very welcoming to novices. This is a very straightforward sport (but not an easy one).

-What is your fondest rowing memory?

I couldn’t pick one favorite rowing memory, but I always enjoy travel regattas because of the down time you get with your teammates. My second favorite rowing experience is any time somebody falls in the water.

-Finally, what is your plan to improve the club?

I want to improve the club by, obviously, recruiting people. It’s really beyond any one person’s power to make a club good, and my vision for UB crew is of effective coaches and passionate, dedicated rowers.

I’m excited to see familiar members and new talent this year. I also want to use this year to improve personally in my role on the E-Board and as a participating rower. Cowabunga!
