The UB Rowing Club competed at The Head of the Niagara hosted by Westside Rowing Club Sunday October 17. This was the first race for the novice men and women this year. They were very excited to get out there and show what they have learned over the last few weeks. UB entered 2 Novice Men’s 8’s and 1 Novice Women’s 8.
The varsity team took several boats giving many of the athletes 2 races throughout the day. The varsity men raced 3 singles, 2 doubles, 1 four and 1 eight. The women raced 1 eight and 1 four. It was a wonderful opportunity to get a lot racing in one day. The men came away with a win in the Collegiate Varsity 8 and 4.
The team stays local this coming weekend as well, when they race at the Head of the Buffalo hosted by BSRA.
