After four years without competing in a competition, the UB Rowing Club turned some heads last Saturday at the NYS Collegiate Championship Regatta on April 19th.
Under the supervision and training from Coach Andy Witt of West Side Rowing and additional help from Coach Lily and Coach Dan, the Men's Frosh/Novice 4+ was able to get 2nd Place in the competition. The club was only 4 seconds behind the winning crew from Army.
In other news, the new E-Board has been elected to prepare for the new academic year! The newly elected E-Board as follows:
Christopher Caiello, President
Calogero "Sandro" Ehrig, Vice President
Daniel Keselman, Treasurer
Jacky Lin, Secretary
Bella Rowe, Social Media Manager
William Purcell, Recruitment Officers
Congratulations to the new E-Board. All of the new members are enthusiastic about the future of the club, with big plans for the revitalization of the club. Their first task will be to plan for the main event of the Fall Semester: Campus Fest. This event marks the start of the new semester and exhibits all of UB's club to the new class of freshman. The E-Board hopes that this event will not only reach out to the freshman, but also some returning UB students as well.
We are very excited for what's to come from this club in the future. We hope that prospective members and members of the alumni who have fond memories of the rowing club are just as excited as us!
Go Bulls!
