My name is Elise Dougherty, and I am a freshman majoring in chemical engineering.
I am an experienced rower, and I rowed for Liverpool Crew and Chargers Rowing Club in high school.
I started rowing because a friend was joining, and I quickly loved it.
My favorite rowing memory was when my boat got first place during our time trial at states, and we got to go to Nationals later that season.
Through rowing, I learned how important teamwork is and how much work we put in to the sport affects everyone else in the boat who also wants to succeed.
What keeps me coming back to rowing is the sense of accomplishment after a race knowing everyone in the boat was pushing through as hard as they could.
